GCCC Children's Choir at Christmas

The children sang "Night of Silence" for the combined Chinese and English Christmas Service. The congregation joined them by singing "Silent Night" in both English and Chinese as the children sang the final verse of "Night of Silence."

Friday Night Live

In addition to singing together, Nathan Mui is leading a book club on C. S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters and Pastor Johnny has been giving short introductions to Bible books which are rarely taught or preached from (Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Micah, Nahum, and more are planned). Games and refreshments also make regular appearances. Below is a file where Pastor Johnny adapted Norbert Lohfink's outline of Ecclesiastes for our group.

Sunday School

By special request, our group has been studying the history of Israel from the Exodus to the Monarchy. In so doing, we're looking at extra-biblical as well as biblical materials surrounding God's dealings with early Israel. Ever wondered how God might have used natural forces to cause the plagues? We looked at some possibilities. Ever wondered why these particular plagues might have been appropriate? The following file offers some ideas about the natural order of the plagues, as well as how they could have been designed to undermine gods in Egypt's pantheon.
